While the crowds took their usual place at sunset overlooking the Twelve Apostles, I captured this 'lone apostle' a little farther down the beach. The shape of the wave and the surrounding textures make it one of my favorite images.
Driving along before sunrise I noticed this large rock sitting alone on the beach against the crashing waves.
Instead of composing a typical beach photo with palm trees, I decided to wade in and make the rock the subject.
When I found these rock formations lined up along a small cove in Far North Queensland I felt it would be the perfect place to return during twilight. While many chase sunrise and sunset, I am more fascinated by the light on the edge of darkness.
